QUEEN'S 70th PLATINUM JUBILEE : Foretold 2,500 yrs ago

In 2022 , Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. The Platinum Jubilee celebrations marking the Queen's 70 years on the throne were the first of their kind - aside from Victoria, no other Queen or King of Great Britain has even reigned for 60 years.

A beaming Queen Elizabeth waved to cheering crowds massed outside Buckingham Palace on Thursday as Britain kicked off four days of pomp, parties and parades to celebrate her record-breaking 70 years on the British throne. Tens of thousands of royal supporters waving flags lined the streets of London for a military parade at the start of the four-day Platinum Jubilee. Millions of people across Britain and the world watched the festivities , joined street parties and lit beacons in honor of the 96-year-old queen.

World leaders including U.S. President Joe Biden, France’s Emmanuel Macron, Pope Francis and former British prime ministers were among those sending messages of goodwill.
