POLAND PREPARES FOR WAR : Growing fears of Russian attack
WARSAW - Poland's defence minister has told Sky News his country is facing its greatest security crisis since the end of the Cold War. Speaking from the ministry of defence in Warsaw , Tomasz Siemoniak said they must be prepared for the situation to deteriorate further & for Russia to expand its ambitions beyond the annexation of Crimea. " We can see that Russia is going in the direction of restoring the influence it had at the time of the Soviet Union " Mr Siemoniak said. " If that is the case then the situation is not over by any means with Crimea and it will move on to the territories of other countries, that will either be targeted by aggression or by some other measures taken by the Russian federation, so we have to be ready."
Poland has increased defence spending by 18% to meet NATO's target of 2% of GDP, as well as expanding the size of its reserves. The country is undertaking an ambitious rearmament programme , attempting to overhaul its dependence on ageing Soviet-era equipment by 2022. The defence ministry is also drawing up plans to help train & integrate civilian paramilitary groups, which could be mobilised in the event of war. Volunteer territorial defence organisations have reported a surge in new members since the start of the conflict in neighbouring Ukraine.

PROPHECY INSIGHTS - Poland is in the grip of fear. As a nation , all too familiar with the horrors of being invaded by hostile neighbors , Poland knows it may be ' next ' in Vladimir Putin's predatory sights. As the violence & chaos in Ukraine continues to escalate , all Poles know & understand the frightening prospect that an expansionist Russian colossus , poses to their own nation. Alarmed by events over the border , Poland is preparing , readying itself to defend the homeland.
In truth , if Russia were to attack Poland there would be little resistance. Poland's military & defensive infrastructures are dwarfed by Russia's war machine. Furthermore , from WW2 to the Chechen War , Russian forces have for generations had a fearful reputation for their brutality. It is a trait that is foretold in the prophecy of Habakkuk. Likening this end-times Russian military power to the ancient Chaldeans ( infamous for their cruelty & barbarism ) , the prophet warned of this all-conquering power that would march to possess lands " that are not theirs " . . .
HABAKKUK 1 v 5-9 - Behold ' YE ' among ' the heathen ' ( nations ) & regard & wonder marvellously : for I will work a work in your days , which ye will NOT believe , though it be told you. For , lo , I raise up the Chaldeans ( latter-day Russia ) , that bitter & hasty nation , which shall march through the breadth of the land , to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs. They are terrible & dreadful : their judgment & their dignity shall proceed of themselves. Their horses also are swifter than the leopards & are more fierce than the evening wolves & their horsemen shall spread themselves & their horsemen shall come from far ; they shall fly as ' the eagle ' that hasteth to eat. They shall come all ' for violence ' . . .
We know this vision has an ' end-times ' fulfilment , because early in the next chapter Habakkuk is told : " Write the vision, & make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but AT THE END it shall speak, & not lie : though it tarry, wait for it ; because it will surely come ". We cannot know for sure whether Russia will attack Poland , but we can see the amazing accuracy & reliability of God's prophetic Word , as we see the formation of the latter-day ' Gog ' & his fearsome military forces before they turn their attention to the Middle East . . . & Israel !!!
