FRENCH APOCALYPTIC FLOODS : 18 Dead along French Riviera

FRANCE - A British woman is among 19 people who died in “ apocalyptic ” floods that devastated the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz, including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes. Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur. The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

PROPHECY INSIGHTS - We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago. A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China. All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

ROMANS 8 v 22-23 - We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.
